I love this date and I am not one to usually notice all the
digits being the same ..12/12/12. I recently was with some men that I meet with
regularly and something was said that has led to another discovery. Someone said that we had to be careful how we
share with others when God is working in our lives so that we don’t come across
as we now know everything about how you are supposed to walk with God. The statement explained how everyone is
different and God will work in them in His own unique way. As I thought about
this, I came to the conclusion that I agreed and disagreed with what I was
hearing.
I agreed with the caution of coming across as one who is
“super spiritual” and somewhat of "a know it all " because of this
new way God is working in their life. However,
I disagree with the idea that the caution of sharing your experiences has to be watered down to be palatable or
socially acceptable as almost everything being done or said today is trying to
not make waves or offend anyone. Let me
clarify what I just stated by giving you a different perspective. I have been sharing about the joy of
discovering how God is working in my life and about how exciting this process
is. The new discovery is that I do believe that this new relationship of having
God work with you at a basic level is literally the answer to spiritual cancer.
Spiritual Cancer might be the same as a wilted plant that will die if it is not
given life saving waters which then will revitalize the plant. This is the
critical necessity of our spiritual walk with God. We have to allow God to remove anything that
might hinder our relationship with Him. This is why I don’t necessarily agree
with the idea that we must exercise caution when sharing about how God is
working in our life because the person doing the work is God in every
instance. God will work differently in
every person because He has made every person different, but He is the common
denominator of what will take place. I
have been sharing that seeking God first is the most important thing we can do
and I would like to put an exclamation point on this! You see sharing with someone about this Best
Friend relationship is the absolute best advice you can ever share. Why? When
someone seeks God, He never turns anyone away, so consequently if you are
sharing with someone how God is there and waiting for you in this kind of a
relationship, then they will experience whatever God chooses to do in their
life, albeit it will look different in every life, but the same person is the
one doing the changing. How has this impacted me? continued
